Selecting the Most Suitable Candidate (A Competency-Based Approach)

Have you ever relied on gut instinct when hiring, then realised the person was not really suitable? Do you know how much a bad hiring decision can cost your company? Do you carefully define the key competencies of the role and interview around them? This workshop is for you!

In this one day workshop you will learn to identify key competencies – characteristics that differentiate outstanding performers from average performers in any given job – and carefully build those competencies into your selection process.

You will develop a customised interview format for each individual position, based on the duties and responsibilities of that role. You will also be motivated to identify the fundamental skills needed to perform at a superior level.

The use of role-plays in this workshop effectively models behavioural interviewing practices. This in turn provides learners with a structured format to recognise and critique good and bad approaches with a strong sense of integrity.
